Woman Kneeling is a tribute to Indigenous women, culture, and the enduring spirit of healing. At the heart of the design, an Anishinaabe woman kneels peacefully with her eyes closed, holding an eagle feather close to her heart—a symbol of prayer, honour, humility, and connection to Creator.
Flowing around her are vibrant woodland-inspired flowers, berries, leaves, and butterflies, representing growth, resilience, renewal, and the beauty of life that flourishes when culture is embraced. Together, these elements tell a story of strength rooted in tradition and the power of carrying Indigenous teachings forward for future generations.
